BEIJING, China (CNN) -- Tensions rose in Beijing on Friday, as hundreds of people waited in long lines to buy the last batch of Olympic tickets to go on sale.

Some people waited up to two days in the midsummer heat.

Video from Hong Kong Cable TV showed some people in the wee hours darting under ropes meant to contain the lines, presumably in an effort to cut in line.

Others broke through barriers later in the day, apparently for the same reasons.

Also on Friday, police told several journalists to leave spots near the ticketing center in Beijing, some reporters told CNN.

Footage from Hong Kong Cable TV showed officers grabbing some members of the news media and leading at least one away.
